Specimen notes
Public Note:
without a socle base. Stem weakly dextrinoid Caulocystidia mixture of hair-like and shorter cystidia. With hair-like pilocystidia, irregular broad hyphae with lobes and knobs, and cheilocystidia (few) like caulocystidia. Spores in tetrads length=8.5–10.4µm (µ=9.6, σ=0.61), width=4.5–6.0µm (µ=5.3, σ=0.37), Q=1.4–2.3µm (µ=1.84, σ=0.17), n=18., length=8.8–11.2µm (µ=10.0, σ=0.55), width=4.3–6.0µm (µ=5.3, σ=0.40), Q=1.6–2.3µm (µ=1.91, σ=0.17), n=29. ITS/lsu places within porotheliaceae and not near marasmiellus. Perhaps the nearest to Stevenson's M. omphaloides but this has cheilocystidia and hyaline pilocystidia that are many times longer (100-300um) not yellow. With buckle-clamps. 4-spored. basidia collapsing. Exuding oil drops into melzers.
