Specimen notes
Public Note:
type is just a single fragmented frb which is tiny. The gills have dried entirly black so hard to say if gill edge was differently coloured. The gills have strong lateral interveining, but not reaching same height as main series, maybe 2/3 max height, i.e. this is not poroid. Cap seems without ornamentation and partially gelatinsed. Gill edge has obvious dark band under scope. The spores seem only vey weakly amyloid. No caulocystidia seen. No cheilocystidia seen, basidiolar if present at all. spores Length=5.2–6.1µm (µ=5.7, σ=0.30), width=3.2–3.9µm (µ=3.6, σ=0.23), Q=1.3–1.8µm (µ=1.57, σ=0.11), n=21. Why did seggedin call the cap reddish-brown porphyrous 7E6, when that colour in K&W is very different, and in fact orange brown? 7D4 is a tannish colour and not vinaceous brown. Spore size and shape is different to Seggedin's measurements.. Basidia with globules, like rubroglobulosa. This is a Prunulus
