Specimen notes
Public Note:
the cheilo and cap ornamentation appear identical to M. lividorubra, including brown edge in some material. - Perhaps cap diverticulae longer. Pleurocystidia and caulocystidia not present, so Seggedin's key will not work. I'd say M. podocarpi and lividorubra are certainly synonyms. M. austroavenacea does have a very similar description but I believe it safest to call all of these P. lividorubra .4-spored. length=6.2–7.6µm (µ=6.8, σ=0.40), width=3.4–4.6µm (µ=4.0, σ=0.28), Q=1.5–1.9µm (µ=1.71, σ=0.10), n=23. Not rubromarginatae sensu northern hemisphere and all Prunulus. Segedin's placement of her species in rubromargintae in error.
