Specimen notes
Public Note:
Conidiomata of the fungus Cytospora erumpens Norph., Bulgakov, T.C. Wen & K.D. Hyde (2017) visible on the surface – and pressing through the bark – of a Sorbus tree branch. The Sorbus sp. was found to be most closely related to Sorbus dumosa and Sorbus aucuparia via DNA sequencing, but was unable to be identified to species level.
