Public Note:
[Muir] FeSO4 pink, taste slowly hot. [Cooper] sequence is sister of mcnabii and macrocystidiata. The cap is very finely deep purple pubescent. The gills have basal interveining. Not coloured on edge apart from cap perimeter. The stem has fine purple fibrils on surface. Cap cystidia SV-ve. Cheilomacro not distinguished. Spores length=6.3–7.4µm (µ=6.7, σ=0.25), width=5.2–6.5µm (µ=5.8, σ=0.29), Q=1.1–1.3µm (µ=1.16, σ=0.06), n=20. Pilocystidia weakly refractive, septate. Cystidia arising from spherical cells. Appears to have both relatively short refractive cystidia and longer hairs (to 200um) also septate.
