Specimen notes
Public Note:
looking like a small cortinarius or galerina. Cap a cutis, clamped but not obvious, encrusted, cheilocystidia and pleurocytsidia metuloid and both with crystals, spores smooth, amygdaliform 8.5 x 5um. Caulocystidia present along entire length of stem but no fibrils. Cap smooth - no squamules anywhere and no sign of veilar remnants. Stem base not bulbous. Clearly close to I. mendica that with hemispherical cap and no umbo, and cystidia less ventricose. Egons' new manuscript leads to I. gracilior with some differences, i.e. stem entirely pruinose and pleurocystidia with crystals and spores broader. But has stature and morphology of gracilior. Seems intermediate between mendica and gracilior. Are these separate taxa? LSU agrees with PDD1260 Horak ks I. ciliata, but not PDD72619. Two taxa.
