In No. 43, the three smaller pieces of bark bear Perichaena depressa, as labeled, but the large piece bears Perichaena corticalis (Batsch) Rost. I doubt that these developed at the same time. The depressa is well-matured and rather old, with spores about 9.5µ; the corticalis is more yellowish than usual and agglutinated, with spores about 13µ, and looks as though it had been collected before it was quite mature.
