Public Note:
The rust was recorded from New Zealand by Cunningham (1930) as Uredo salicorniae. However, Cunningham (1930, 417) stated:
This may be the uredostage of Uromyces salicorniae de Bary, the only rust recorded on this
host genus, but as only uredospores are present on the specimens, and as these do not
altogether agree with the published descriptions of this species, our form has been provisionally named as new.
Thus, in the context of Article 36.1(a) in the Shenzhen Code (Turland et al. 2018), the
species was only given a provisional name and is not validly published
