Public Note:
[PL] gills decurrent, spores amyloid 7.5 x 6um. [JAC] spores very weakly amyloid 4-spored, with utriform cheilocystidia, slight brown plasmatic content, cap with thick walled glassy hyphae and brown plasmatic vesicles. Clamped. Spores very variable in size (on gill). length=8.1–11.2µm (µ=9.4, σ=0.70), width=5.1–7.7µm (µ=5.9, σ=0.57), Q=1.4–1.8µm (µ=1.60, σ=0.13), n=28. see also C. fistulosa, which this is not, but is related in being an amyloid spored member of the Gerronema clade (near Clitocybula atroalba). Watch out for large cystidia with encrusting pigment green in KOH (= Horak's Clavomphalia).
