Specimen notes
Public Note:
growing on dead moss. Polished hollow stem, strigose base, gills with small decurrent tooth. No smell, taste slghtly mealy. No latex. Gill edge concolorous. 1-2 spored. Stem without caulocystidia. Cheilocystidia 30 x 20 spores length=8.6–10.6µm (µ=9.3, σ=0.53), width=4.2–5.3µm (µ=4.7, σ=0.34), Q=1.7–2.4µm (µ=2.00, σ=0.14), n=20. With ITS this is different to filopes, but near for LSU. Microscopically there is little difference (metata with more stipitate cheilos), and macroscopically with more robust appearance and filopes appearing frosted/rimose.
