Specimen notes
Public Note:
I suspect some PDD map references for Keith George Memorial Park are incorrect. This is a small reserve on the west side of SH2 with the entrance just north and opposite the Fergusson Road junction. Turned into a park (reserve) in 1923. Very steep side to the valley with podocarps at the base and Nothofagus truncata in the upper part. This entoloma smelling strongly of hypochlorite in the field. Gill edge concolorous. Gills subfree. Spores not cuboid, 5-sided. gill edge not notched. Keys to congregatum but not. Sequence near PDD material labelled E. translucidum. If thisis E. translucidum then it is not the same as E. perzonatum, which has sequences elsewhere. In addition there is no mention of odour for translucidum or perzonatum. This might be E. chrysopus.
