Specimen notes
Public Note:
on soil, bound to kunzea roots, and with shaggy lower stem. This is not H. fasiculare or acutum. FN89. tapering root. Cap red in KOH. Taste bitter. Gills lemon/green, edge yellow (but not with pigmented cystidia). Pleurocystidia with yellowish granuular content in water, becoming deeper yellow in KOH over entire cystidium with deeper concentration at cystidia base, only few of these on gill edge. Same reaction in patent blue (i.e. chrysocystidia with aditional neutrally yellow discreet content). Also with non chryso cheilocystidia, much smaller. Spores thick-walled, with germ pore, weakly dextrinoid. Spores length=6.6-7.6µm (µ=7.0, σ=0.25), width=3.7-4.4µm (µ=4.0, σ=0.18), Q=1.5-1.9µm (µ=1.73, σ=0.09), n=20. Clamps not observed. Cap a zebroid encrusted cutis over a partially gelatinised sub-cutis with broad elements. Paler than others as H. australianum
