Specimen notes
Public Note:
Monostichella salicis state on galls of the wasp, on live leaves. Previously recorded in NZ under anamorphic D. sphaeroides, but that restricted to Salix caprea and allies. Name new to NZ - but organism not. Conidia perhaps more curved than they should be. It is worth noting that Salix alba, Salix babylonica (sensu stricto), and Salix x chrysocoma are interplanted and only S. alba seems to have the gall and only S. babylonica seems to have the rust.
