Specimen notes
Public Note:
cap 25-70mm, inrolled when young, stem to 15mm diam.x 45mm long, hollow, yellowish. Smell earthy, taste none. Cap hyphae thin-walled, fresh material with lumen, to 8um diam, clamped. Spore print cream, spores smooth. Cap a partially gelatinsed cutis, without ornamentation. Basidia not carminophilous. Looks like Clitopilus (multilamellata) but microscopically it is not. Closest to C. vermicularis - does it have rhizoids? Sp. nov. Is in the Clitocybe section vernae group, which is remote from anything else (sister to entolomatceae) and needs a new genus.
