Public Note:
spores length=7.8-8.7µm (µ=8.2, σ=0.26), width=4.6-5.5µm (µ=5.1, σ=0.27), Q=1.5-1.8µm (µ=1.63, σ=0.10), n=14. Not possible to see if 4-spored or not. 2 germ pores. Has long hairs but no beak. perithecia to 120um diam with short hyaline recurved hairs. This appears to be a smaller spored version of M. longisetosa (and perhaps 8-spored). It is not M. washingtonensis. That has a long beak, with shorter hairs (rather than short beak and longer hairs as i this and M. longisetosa). M.w. also has larger spores. The host material also had M. pegleri (spore shape), but not refound. This is a sp. nov. Didn't grow in culture.
