Specimen notes
Public Note:
superficially arthrobotrys or dactylaria like but perhaps not related. Seems more like a hyaline scolecobasidium or Dissoconium. Conidia 1-septate, both conidia and conidiophore hayaline. Conidia and conidiophore with clear denticles - rhexolytic. Micronematous. Neta distinguished from Dactylaria by arachnoid network and brown stiff thick-walled hyphae. However de Hoog SIM26 excludes both characters as the basis of the genus, in which case this very close to Neta compacta. Best left in Dactylaria sensu lato.
