Specimen notes
Public Note:
no taste, no milk. Lamellulae in series of 2. No decurrent tooth or arcuate. Cap a clamped cutis of broadly ellipsoid smooth cells, weakly dextrinoid. No pleuro. Cheilo slightly thick-walled, slightly irregular, to 40um. spores length=8.9–10.3µm (µ=9). Grgurinovic to subgalericulata. I think there is a strong possibility that my M. 'Barracouta' is the same as M. subgalericulata but it requires sequence verification from confirmed Au material [A later sequence of MEL material was too poor]. This species is also consistent with Mycena miriamae but that was collected on pinus in a city suburb. I believe M. miriamae is closer to M. stipata but Stevenson did not note smell (nitrous), there are no subsequent records on this host, and there are no reference sequences of M. stipata currently.
