Specimen notes
Public Note:
earthy smell, no taste. Stem pruinose towards apex. Gills spotted brown, with emarginate tooth. Spores thick walled. Cap an unclamped, zebroid encrusted non gelatinised cutis. Cap hyphae strongly undulate/nodose, to 6um diam. Spores length=5.4–7.0µm (µ=6.3, σ=0.41), width=4.1–4.7µm (µ=4.4, σ=0.17), Q=1.3–1.6µm (µ=1.42, σ=0.10), n=20. Note that Stevenson described this species as ornage/rufous and yet the sequencedata clearly indicate it is variable, through to grey/brown.
