Specimen notes
Public Note:
FN232. with slimy stem. exactly like jac 10010. No pleurocystidia. With both broad capitate and antler-like cheilocystidia. 4 spored. Cap and gill unevenly dextrinoid. Spores collapsing. Amyloid .Cap a hymeniderm but without broen pigment or ornamentation. jac10010 requires checking again. Spores size from squash is extremely variable but Q is not. length=3.7–11.2µm (µ=9.1, σ=1.56), width=3.1–10.7µm (µ=3.9, σ=1.41), Q=2.1–3.0µm (µ=2.60, σ=0.26), n=26. This collection confirms the presence of something close to M. lamprospora in NZ. That has also been recorded for PNG, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Brazil. Section roridae - possibly a different genus. NZ material shows more antler like cheilocystidia and clearly two types, and spores larger. Not enough material to split.
