Specimen notes
Public Note:
with rhizoids. smell faint of aniseed. Ring zone not distinct, hanging down. Base of stem with slightly marginate bulb. Stem below ring with brown hyphal ropes. Cap smooth with very fine brown fibrils. Cap yellow in KOH. Flesh bruising very slightly yellow, but not distinct. Stem with small hollow tube. Note that FAN questions name semotus and prefers dulcidulus. I doubt this is the same as the northern hemisphere version (e.g. sensu Kibby). Note section minores without rhizomorphs. This without cheilo or pleuro, gill edge sterile with perclinal hyphae. Spores thick walled, length=4.2–5.5µm (µ=4.7, σ=0.31), width=3.0–4.0µm (µ=3.4, σ=0.32), Q=1.2–1.6µm (µ=1.40, σ=0.12), n=20. Kibby synoptic aehlop-key6,key13, key19 - nowhere. For Siegel A. semotus with rhizomorphs.
