Specimen notes
Public Note:
asci tips with blue ring in melzers. Septate broad hairs of excipulum and paraphyses have strongly dextrinoid granular content. Spores hyaline becoming sooty (in KOH). Many free spores are hyaline of faintly pigmented but asci with dark spores are quite obvious. length=14.2–16.3µm (µ=15.2, σ=0.70), width=6.7–8.7µm (µ=7.6, σ=0.55), Q=1.7–2.3µm (µ=2.00, σ=0.17), n=13. The blue ascus ring and dextrinoid reaction is only obvious in fresh material and nearly absent in dried material. Croziers not observed. Asci base fractures horizontally.
