Specimen notes
Public Note:
on really well decayed, whoite rotted wood. Spores sigmoid/geniculate, to 7-septate, when old becoming brown and germinating at each cell with phialide. Ascus with large sub-apical globule. Surface mulberry-like, with brown strigose basal hyphae, occasionally hyphopodiate. Note purple staining of wood. This is clearly Toni's L. 'purpurea'.
