Public Note:
fruitbodies imbricate. with eccentric small button stem. Cap and gill edge strongly encrusted with rhomboid crystals and strongly gelatinised. lageniform cystidia deeply embedded in crystal layer. Very thick walled hyphae in cap. The gills have dried dark brown and there is a basal layer in the gills with brown content. I can find nothing that look consistently like spores or basidia. No tissue changes in Melzers. Not brown spored. No metuloids. Possibly spores are hyaline, small, allantoid. Not possible to make a sensible determination. Name just a holding pen. Sequence says Gymnopus.
