Specimen notes
Public Note:
no smell. Dried resinous looking. Confirmed by brown oil globules forming in Melzers. 4-spored. With tibiform cystidia intermixed with hyphae-like cystidia. Fruitbodies have a stem, not seen in photos. It is attached to a crease in the cap which remain with gills facing up. I.e. this is halfway to Anastrophella. This appears to be one of the resinous gloeocystidias, like G. phormiorum? Clamps not seen, stem dextrinoid. Spores length=8.5–11.5µm (µ=9.5, σ=0.8), width=4.3–5.5µm (µ=4.8, σ=0.3), Q=1.7–2.2µm (µ=2.0, σ=0.1), n=13. Seems close to some of the monocot gloiocephalas, menieri etc. Material poor.
