Specimen notes
Public Note:
surface white with green tint. Context rubbery. Smell like scleroderma - rubbery. FeSO4 on skin brown, KOH lightly yellow with time. No clamp connections. Gleba gelatinised. 4-6 ribs. The rubbery gelatinous nature makes me think, one again, that this is closer to Chamonixia mucosa, and that Chamonixia pachydermis is a different taxon. Unless this develops the consistently green pachyderm and looses its gelatinised gleba as it gets older? Something isn't right. ITS places similar but not identical to other R. pachydermins within the complex which encompasses R. vittatispora and pachydermis. I doubt the former is tenable as a separate sepcies.
