Specimen notes
Public Note:
Walbert et al (Mycorrhiza, v20, p209, 2010) say that no Hebeloma fruitbodies have ever been found in NZ P. radiata plantations? Not sure why as Katrin has collected material, as have others. Her material did not match anything in Genbank. If N. american then FNA has bakeri, cremeum, californicum, farinaceum and sinapizans on the pacific coast of which californicum and farinaceum with oaks and bakeri not specified - leaving sinapizans with conifers. This material: Smell faintly raddish. Stem hollow. Only upper part of stem pruinouse with cystidia, Glls spotted brown when mature. sect Hebeloma or Denudata. Cap sticky when wet (bits of litter stuck). Spores without perispore, amygdaliform, to 7um wide, weakly dextrinoid, length=7.8-9.5µm (µ=8.6, σ=0.4), width=5.0-5.8µm (µ=5.5, σ=0.3), Q=1.5-1.6µm (µ=1.6, σ=0.1), n=16. Cheilocystidia to 8um wide. Stem to 12mm. Morphologically fits crustiliniforme again (spores small), but maybe not according to Katrin.
