spermatic smell. Peridium with carmine tinges. Reticulum completely amyloid and 1.5-2.5um high., not cristate (but not quite like redolens either - more like Theresa's SEM than the drawings). Sequence next to R. brevipes group (allochroa/australis) and near type G. cristatus. Cap cystidia very strongly SV+ve. Cutis of gelatinised parallel hyphae, with some blunt broad septate terminal elements and with embedded refractive cystidia, over gelatatinused filamentous sub-cutis, to 120um. 2-spored. Gill cystidia identical to cap, and with same sterile septate elements? Ornamentation on spores is deciduous. Spores length=9.3-11.1µm (µ=10.0, σ=0.47), width=9.2-11.2µm (µ=9.7, σ=0.42), Q=1.0-1.1µm (µ=1.04, σ=0.04), n=20, ornamentation to 4um.
