This with tea-tree, no Nothofagus. gills spotting brown, milk white, unchanging initially but drying brown. Lamellulae in a series of three. Fruitbody hard. Smell spermatic. Guiaiac blue, FeSO4 pink. Taste mild. No reaction with NH4OH. L. clarkei? With spore print - with no tint. Cap and stem same tomentose look as var. aurantioruber, but drying much paler. Cap hairs glassy and thick walled, to 400um long, but paler and much longer than var. aurantioruber. The trichoderm layer 130um thick and with spherical cells, over periclinal filamentous layer200um thick, over sphaerocysts. Spores with indistinct plage but clear amyloid spot. length=8.3-10.6µm (µ=9.3, σ=0.57), width=5.7-7.9µm (µ=6.5, σ=0.55), Q=1.3-1.6µm (µ=1.43, σ=0.09), n=20, ornamentation to 0.6um
