Paraphyses green in Melzers, but not the covering of red/brown granules. Paraphyses of catenate ampullaceous elements. Asci 4 & 8 spored length=24.7–28.4µm (µ=26.7, σ=1.3), width=10.9–14.8µm (µ=12.2, σ=1.3), Q=1.9–2.5µm (µ=2.2, σ=0.2), n=11. R. rufulum shown to have 4 clades in Costa Rica so probable that R. h. is similar. Syns: Tryblidium hysterinum, Tryblidiella hysterina , Eutryblidiella hysterina, Hysterium elevatum, Hysterographium elevatum, Tryblidiella elevata, Brunaudia elevata, Eutryblidiella panchanani, N.
