Specimen notes
Public Note:
masses of fruitbodies under loose bark on standing trunks. Without cheilocystidia. Cap hyphae encrusted. Very difficult to see spore ridges in water mount. Spores length=7.4–8.8µm (µ=8.1, σ=0.4), width=4.5–5.1µm (µ=4.9, σ=0.2), Q=1.5–1.8µm (µ=1.7, σ=0.1), n=9. Close to PDD86965 again. I don't believe this has been recently introduced, as indicated by Horak. Also the two collections on the same host in the same locality but with different spore size brings into question Egon's split of the putative C. sp PDD88168 & PDD88169. Spore size is clearly quite variable. To Egon 01/2012. Returned to PDD 05/2012
