bruising red. NH4OH no change. Gill edge red. Dried nearly black. Cap hyphae without clamps, no colour change in KOH. Gills exuding red pigment into melzers. Spores dextrinoid. length=6.8-7.5µm (µ=7.2, σ=0.2), width=4.1-5.3µm (µ=4.7, σ=0.4), Q=1.3-1.8µm (µ=1.6, σ=0.2), n=12. Spores with germ pore. L. castanescens?
