not fluorescent. No veilar remnants. Cap black in KOH. cap finely fibrillose, with repent elements. Clamped. Spores with minute pore, phaseoliform. Is this one of Egon's Tubaria/Flammulaster's? 4-spored. Cheilocystidia clavate, some with yellow content, no chrysocystidia. Spores length=7.2–9.6µm (µ=8.2, σ=0.7), width=4.2–5.1µm (µ=4.6, σ=0.2), Q=1.7–2.1µm (µ=1.8, σ=0.1), n=15. Sequences indicate this is not congeneric with Tubaria, but within the Tubariaceae
