Public Note:
without gloeocystidia. tissue monomitic, clamped, cystidia, if present, basidiolar. The placement of this taxon in aurantioporus or spongipellis or tyromces is questioned. On a restricted portion of ITS (347bp) it comes out near sequences labelled Phlebia (brevispora), from Japan and has similar looking vesicles. Is P. brevisora correctly placed? Spores length=5.0-6.2µm (µ=5.7, σ=0.4), width=3.5-4.2µm (µ=3.8, σ=0.2), Q=1.2-1.7µm (µ=1.5, σ=0.1), n=10. Probably not A. pulcherrimus. A sequence of bright red material is needed.[JAC:6/11/2023] a sequence of bright red NZ A. pulcherrimus confirms this is not that species and is related to Tyromyces guttulatus sensu Cunningham and perhaps Tyromyces (Pappia) fissilis sensu Buchanan (on Salix) and perhaps all belong in Pappia.
