strong blue when cut. Sequence suggests very close affinity to a Genbank Chalciporus ovalisporus but is nothng like the description. spores length=6.5–8.5µm (µ=7.7, σ=0.52), width=3.9–5.2µm (µ=4.6, σ=0.31), Q=1.6–1.8µm (µ=1.67, σ=0.08), n=16. Looks like a beech version of B. leptospermi. This and C. ovalisporus are not Chalciporus sesnu stricto and and are close to pulveroboletus. Wu clade 40 Boletus satanus clade
