spores inamyloid, thin-walled, basidia cylindrical, sterigmata 3um long, no hyphidia, monomitic, thin & peelable when dry. basal hyphae 7um, upper branches 4um. Covered in thin rectangular crystals. Basal hyphae clamped, upper hyphae not. 4-spored length=4.4-5.2µm (µ=4.9, σ=0.4), width=3.2-3.5µm (µ=3.4, σ=0.2), Q=1.3-1.5µm (µ=1.4, σ=0.1), n=4. Botrobasidium is rarely pellicular. This looks like Breitenbach & Kranzlin's drawing, of A.e. but not others - a complex according to Erikson & Ryvarden. Julich keys to A. nivea within the complex.
