Public Note:
dark olive/black. Erumpent through the bark. Without ionomidotic reaction (not exuding dark pigment in KOH). No associated anamorph seen. No secondary conidia seen. Excipulum encrusted with green granules in Melzers. Ascospores bizzare! 7-16 septate.length=19.8–31.5µm (µ=24.2, σ=3.6), width=4.0–5.1µm (µ=4.4, σ=0.3), Q=4.6–7.5µm (µ=5.5, σ=0.8), n=12. Definitely non of pleomorphicus, atrovirens ,simplex recorded for S. America. Spores nothing like C. australis (not a claussenomyces?)Nearest to pleomorphicus but that smaller and less eolongate/turbinate. C. dacrymycetoideus is < 0.5mm diam. Reported to MAF 28/06/2010. GenBank HQ533008 ITS places this within a clade containing the coelomycetous collophora necrotic on peach in south africa! And the Phacdiopycmis and Neofabrea likewise fruit pathogens. The Lecythophora mutabilis in the tree (root endophytes) probably misidentified. Clearly in the known clade with Bulgaria, Leotia lubrica, Microglossum rufum, but still potentially a contaminant. Anamorph of Claussenomyces has beeen reported as Pseudagaerita, but not near sequences of my isolates in that genus.
