Public Note:
Definitely associated with mosses and leafy liverworts on clay bank. No tissue amyloid or dextrinoid. Cap a trichoderm and with conical multi-strand hyphal pegs. Spores boletoid/penguin-shaped/spurred. 2-spored. length=6.6–8.2µm (µ=7.4, σ=0.5), width=2.3–2.8µm (µ=2.5, σ=0.2), Q=2.6–3.4µm (µ=2.9, σ=0.2), n=14. Hyphae unclamped. Cheilocystidia mainly basidiolar with occasional gloiocephala-like. Stem smooth, without cystidia. Gerronema schusteri needs reconsideration in any treatment of NZ Rickenella.
