Specimen notes
Public Note:
hard & woody fresh and dried, core fibrous and not granular, tissue without clamps, with small nodose crystals, without setae, hyaline oval spores (unlike last collection?),length=3.7\endash4.6µm (µ=4.0, σ=0.3), width=2.3\endash2.9µm (µ=2.5, σ=0.1), Q=1.4\endash1.8µm (µ=1.6, σ=0.1), n=10. pores with hyaline hyphal extensions (not really cystidia?) regularly encrusted. Hyphae and spores not cyanophilous. Searched hymenium, core tissue and cap for setae and found just 1 after looking at many slides. Should be P. ignarius but not (setae). P. pseudoigniarius - but spores thick walled, without setae. phellinus tuberculosus - setae inonotus dryophilus -without setae, core granular, spores 6-9 inonotus hispidus - without setae, spores thick walled 8-11.
