Specimen notes
Public Note:
Resupinate and extensive. With clamps, hymenium a bit yellow in KOH, without gloeocystidia, dimitic, with pockets of small stellate crystals dispersing in melzers., with some ampullaceous and subulate cystidia, spores length=4.4–5.1µm (µ=4.9, σ=0.3), width=2.9–3.6µm (µ=3.2, σ=0.2), Q=1.4–1.6µm (µ=1.5, σ=0.1), n=5 inamyloid, 4-spored, layer 1-2mm thick, crusty. 'pores' 3 per mm - looks nearly irpicoid. No rhizomorphs seen. Keys to Cunningham's Poria sericeo-mollis. The consensus seems to be that Cunningham's use of the name should be Antrodia vaillantii, although there do seem a lot of names for similar species here.
