Specimen notes
Public Note:
smell strongly fishy in older specimens but none/faint in fresh. Cap peeling 1/3. Edge lightly to strongly pectinate. A few lamellulae - often anastomosing. Basal interveining. Gills with a peculiar vinaceous buff tinge, gill edge often brown with age. Stem white with grey ridges. FeSO4 pink. Guaiac blue rapidly. Cap brown slighlty in KOH, NH4OH nil. Taste mild. No veilar patches on cap. Fawn at edge to purplish date in centre. CHKMN. Keys to this except for lack of numerous lamelullae and guaiac reaction. Subcutis paler than cap but not white and with pale brown pigment. Needs microfeatures and distuingishing from JAC9324. Why isn't this same as JAC10855? Gill edge is pectinate, which does not fit R. g.
