Specimen notes
Public Note:
Texture xaxy. With crystal encrusted metuloid cystidia (lamprocystidia), basal layer with thick-walled glassy, clamped hyphae, 4-spored but can't find mature basidia with spores attached, either effete and collapsed or without sterigmata. Spores length=12.9–16.9µm (µ=14.3, σ=1.1), width=6.5–8.6µm (µ=7.5, σ=0.5), Q=1.7–2.2µm (µ=1.9, σ=0.2), n=13. Cystidia and basidia pink in SV but not grey/black, i.e. SV -ve. Fruitbody phlebia/Scopuloides-like, not Hyphoderma. I cannot find gloeocystidia but this is surely Cunningham's taxon. It seems to have been collected only once in recent times. see also Andreasen & Hallenberg - Synopsis Fungorum 2009. Changed my mind - not a Peniophora.
