Specimen notes
Public Note:
3 colour variations A,B which I take to be variations in the same species present on this site. A: pink with purple hues, B: Red with green hues. Hot to the taste. Gill edge not serrate. FeSO4 pink, Guaiac nil. Spore deposits (sparse) A. Peeling 3/4. Smelling of apple. Pleuroc & cheilo thin-walled. DCY present, with crystalline content like cytidia, DCY purple in SV (it's the crystals that go purple), cystidia with coloured contents in Carbolfuchsin/HCL (strongest in B, weakest in C), but no hyphae coloured in CF/HCL. Kibby code A/B/D JKOPSW. Doesn't key (fragilis is nearest). This (these) are not the same as the Travis fungu (re guaiac reaction).
