Public Note:
on dry branches and white crust cracking, layer 400um thick. Clamped, with globose rough spores, cyanophilous, inamyloid, some thick-walled, with subulate/capitate cystidia, with small globose crystal clusters on hyphae, basidia without broad-rooted base (pleurobasidia, = Xenasma). All hyphae clamped and without swellings (=Trechispora). Hymenium not green in FeSO4. Gloeocystidia (in SV) not present. Spores length=4.8–6.3µm (µ=5.5, σ=0.4), width=4.2–5.2µm (µ=4.7, σ=0.3), Q=1.1–1.4µm (µ=1.2, σ=0.1), n=9. H. auteoroae has thick walled cystidi and this doesn't, and not mention in any Hypochnicium descriptions of the crystals. Apart from crystals this doesn't look significantly different to H. punctulatum but that's been thrown out of NZ. Decided this isTrechispora even tho septa not swollen.
