Specimen notes
Public Note:
the orange stemmed Gymnopus. Same as FUNNZ2015/1730. Sequences indicate Rhodocollybia near r. dotae, which is itself basal to Rhodcollybia (and in my LSU not in Rhodocollybia). R. tablensis (with a description similar to JAC12478) is also in this basal group. That has pleurocystidia.but this does not. Spores on stem/cap are only very faintly dextrinoid but still collapsing around apiculus. There are however many thick-walled spores also typical of Rhodocollybia. Hyphae clamped. Pileipellis interwoven, with short erect elements. Stipe with simple caulocystidia, like pileipellis elements. Cheilocystidia not observed. Spores (uncollapsed - mostly) length=6.8–8.4µm (µ=7.8, σ=0.44), width=3.5–5.0µm (µ=4.4, σ=0.39), Q=1.4–2.2µm (µ=1.79, σ=0.20), n=20. Not R. rimutaka although a look-alike
