Public Note:
very scabrous, dry. Cap black/violaceous with KOH. Flesh and gills yellowish Taste mild, earthy. No smell. Gills not fluorescent. Stem slightly bulbous towards base. Cheilocystidia forming white edge to gill, broadly vesiculose, not chrysocystidia. Pleurocystidia metuloid and frequently with apical crystals. Chryso reaction weak (but material immature). Spores brown, smooth, footprint shaped to phaseoliform. 4-spored, germ pore hardly visible (if present?). length=7.4\endash9.1µm (µ=8.3, σ=0.5), width=3.7\endash4.4µm (µ=4.1, σ=0.2), Q=1.9\endash2.2µm (µ=2.0, σ=0.1), n=15. Egon's description of this taxon says KOH recation with cap is negative.
