Specimen notes
Public Note:
cap without oleiferous hyphae, thick walled glassy clamped cutis, but not dimitic (P. djamor). 4-spored. No cheilocystidia (including gloeosphex) observered. Gill tissue with thick-walled hyphae, but not dimitic. Spores length=9.1–15.2µm (µ=10.3, σ=1.22), width=3.6–4.6µm (µ=4.1, σ=0.24), Q=2.1–3.7µm (µ=2.50, σ=0.33), n=20. Cap hyphae 4-8um.. Cap hyphae and lack of cystidia best distinguishing features from P. djamor. I doubt P. parsonsiae is different to P. pulmonarius despite the Segedin analysis. Clearly from the dimitic tissue P. opuntuiae - P. djamor, but most NZ recrds of the formeer are on Cordyline. This record, which is most definitely P. pulmonarius indicates both species are present on Cordyline.
