Public Note:
Same as 9223. Stem with pinkish flush. Stem FeS04 weak pink, guaiac very weakly blue/green. Taste of gills and flesh mild - maybe slightly acidic, no lamellulae. Peeling 3/4, sticky when wet. Cap pink when fresh and fading buff, 13cm diam., stem 3cm diam . DCY clavate, septate, weak in SV, no fuchsinophile hyphae. Spore print E-F. Spores with amyloid spot, length=8.7\endash11.6µm (µ=9.9, σ=0.8), width=7.1\endash9.2µm (µ=7.9, σ=0.5), Q=1.2\endash1.4µm (µ=1.3, σ=0.1), n=14. Kibby: A,I,L,M/N,Q/R,T,W/Z. To Pat 11/1/2010. PL: " think this one is R. nitida. I am not clear on what grounds you have rejected this identification. Habitat, mycorrhizal associate, taste, colours of cap gills and stipe, spore size and ornamentation and chemical reactions are all OK."
