Specimen notes
Public Note:
Colour gradation with everything from yellow/brown to grey/white in same fruiting. All with strigose basal hairs. Veil of globose cells only and with pilocystidia (setae) - so not C. micaceus aff. Spores length=7.5–8.8µm (µ=8.1, σ=0.4), width=4.7–5.5µm (µ=5.1, σ=0.2), Q=1.4–1.7µm (µ=1.6, σ=0.1), n=14. There seems to be reasonable evidence that at least this species of Coprinellus is naturally present in indigenous systems. As Coprinellus aureogranulatus: Presence of true cheilocystidia, slightly larger spores and different shape suggest some records of C. disseminatus in NZ are actually C. aureogranulatus. This collection requires sequence to confirm.
