Specimen notes
Public Note:
with pinkish hue, fading after collection. Base of stem with pink globose cells of veilar remnant, also present as fugacious appendiculate remnants on cap perimeter, and primordium covered - cystolepiota? Not staining in NH4OH or on handling. Smell slightly spermatic. Spores not dextrinoid, small, remaining clumped together length=4.0–4.7µm (µ=4.3, σ=0.2), width=2.1–2.8µm (µ=2.3, σ=0.2), Q=1.7–2.1µm (µ=1.9, σ=0.2), n=7, gills without cystidia, cap cystidia globose, hyphae clamped. Perhaps a bit too pink for c. seminuda but the lit does say it can be. New record for NZ. Reported to MAF 2/07/2010
