Specimen notes
Public Note:
gills covered in strong partial veil, leaving thin remnants very near stem apex. Universal veil ephemeral, left in soil, and as remnant at stem base, certainly not saccate. Spores amyloid, 4-spored, flesh/cap/stem not staining yellow, stem solid. Smell a bit like raw potatoes. Seems close to A. mumura/taiepa but with too many differences. Cap without any veilar remnants. Nothing australian in reid. Veilar cells at stem base grey, globose, to 100um diameter. Clamps not seen (but possibly extremely big!). Stem tissue with broad clavate cells. Spores broadly ellipsoid, length=7.2–8.4µm (µ=7.8, σ=0.4), width=5.8–7.4µm (µ=6.4, σ=0.5), Q=1.1–1.3µm (µ=1.2, σ=0.1), n=11. Section validae. Nothing obvious in Tuloss' list.no yellow rhizoids on stem base of dried material. veilar remnants on cap visible.
